Paying homage to Homer

July 30, 2018July 30, 2018 ~ debsadac ~ 2 Comments

This is another post which has nothing to do with the Masters, but a lot to do with my classical studies roots. A couple of weeks ago Mike and I came back from a very welcome break on the Greek islands of Ios and Santorini. Now I'd never heard of the island of Ios (pronounced … Continue reading Paying homage to Homer

A219 – Experiencing the Classical World

May 21, 2017July 17, 2017 ~ debsadac ~ 2 Comments

This was one of my favourites, not only because of the subject matter, but also because of the friendships I made along the way and it was the first of the three Classics modules I took. It started in October 2011 and finished in June 2012 and was the first module I studied over Christmas, rather than … Continue reading A219 – Experiencing the Classical World

About Me

As of 2021, I’m currently studying for an MA in Classical Studies, as an (extra) mature student at the Open University.

Older than the average ‘mature’ student, but still got enough mental marbles to take advantage of a lifelong passion for British History, Ancient History & the History of Medicine and put them to good use by ongoing study.

Debsadac is a blog about my current journey in academia in pursuit of a Masters and details my years of studying for an undergrad with the Open University and a postgrad at the University of Leeds, both the highs and the lows and the in-betweens.  Click on About Me to find out more 😊
